about me
My name is Darren Pape, and I'm an amateur photographer in the Greater Toronto Area.
Over the years and especially recently, I've really gotten into photography as a hobby and have
created this photoblog as a way to be creative and to share some of my photos with others like me.
This site is a work in progress, I just started it in October 2005, so I probably will make changes
here and there as time goes on.

equipment
My main camera is a 35mm Nikon F75 SLR. I have 28-80mm and 70-300mm lenses. I also
have a Canon A85 compact digital which I sometimes post pictures from as well.
techniques
Since most of my photos are 35mm, they are scanned. This hurts me a little as some of the picture
quality is lost, but until I splurge on a digital SLR, this will have to be the way! Most photos
I alter with image editing software, although it's usually nothing more than a crop and contrast adjustment. Some
photos I will change to black and white if I like the effect.
